Announcing the Oral History Project

The Carnegie Museum of Kings County has filmed the first four video interviews of its new Oral History Project. They are in post production and soon to be posted on our virtual museum.

Creating an oral history is a team effort and many thanks are due Candace Egan and Kelley McCoy, both professors in Fresno State's Media, Communications and Journalism Department, and Clark Valceschini who are generously volunteering their time, knowledge and energy in helping us get this project off the ground.

The first interviews are with World War II Army Air Corps. bomber pilot and Hanford doctor, Dr. Russell Brookshier, Coe family matriarch Myra Coe Kovac, and retired Navy aviators Donald "DJ" Wright and John Sandknop who were stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore.

Thank you to the Hanford Sentinel for featuring the start of our Oral History Project. To enjoy the article, follow this link.

The goal of our Oral History Project is to preserve the memories and experiences of long time Kings County residents for this and future generations. If you would like to suggest someone to be considered for future oral histories, please follow this link and complete the nomination form.

Enjoy your trip back in time.
